Top ten fashion staples (November edition)

Now I know I said my next post would be my October favourites however my camera is being a right pain and will not let me upload the photos! *gahhh* But since we are now over half way through November I hoped you wouldn't mind! So instead this will be my November fashion staples! I hope you enjoy, and that these gorgeous clothing items will help you find a possible crimbo outfit!
Black satin maxi dress £14.99 H&M
Of course everyone has heard of the LBD well now meet your new best friend the maxi dress! I have actually purchased this one myself recently to wear as my Christmas outfit! Of course black isn't the most festive of colours but I'm going to bling it up with lots of jewellery and bright shoes so I (fingers crossed) look very eye catching ;) Let me know if you would like me to do a Christmas outfit post in the comments below!

Teddy fur pea coat in yellow £79.00 Topshop
Now that the weather outside is getting colder everyone is getting a coat however theres a new style on the block.. the caccon and oyfriend coat. I am personally loving this look, very warm, very cute and very stylish! I especially like this bright yellow one pictured above!

Black bowler hat £7.99 H&M
The classic bowler hat would go perfectly with your new cacoon coat ;) just saying..

Blue Lace Trim Knee High Socks £7.00 Topshop
These socks are too adorable! All through the summer we saw people wearing these socks in the form of ankle socks paired with juju's but now the colder months are here these would be simply perfect with some knock off Dr.Martens,  which leads me to...

Brown Wedge Heel-Boots £34.99 H&M
The Wedge Heel-Boots are the definition of outdoorsy fashion. Who wouldn't love to take a walk in the woods while looking bang on trend?!

A Wear Lace Skater Dress £68.00 Asos
Oh me Oh my! How lovely is this skater dress from Asos?! If you ask me, very. The skater dress is the classic kind of party dress that everyone loves, so why not get your legs out, put on your favourite heels and go a bit crazy this Christmas!

Cooperative Velvet Collar Dress £68.00 Urban Outfitters
Velvet is a bit like Marmite.. you either love it or you hate it, for me its a love situation! This dress shows two of my fashion staples for November, velvet being one of them and the other, peter pan collars! This dress may be on the more expensive side but it has such beautiful detailing so its understandable however if you're like me and prefer a bargain then Primark are actually selling quite a few velvet items at the moment so be sure to snap something up quick!

Tan Handbag £14.99 H&M
Tan is a lovely colour all year round but winter is an especially nice time to have a bag or other piece of clothing in the browny-orange shade. I need a new school bag and think this could be the perfect one! And at £14.99 its not half a bargain!

Cream and White Faux Fur Headband £6.99 New Look
Ooh I do love my ears to be warm! And now because of this you can look good while staying toasty! I would probably get a white or cream one since my hair is dark however most colours would suit any type or colour of hair, so no need to worry if you cant find the right one!

Borg Lined Parka Jacket £95.00 Topshop
Im in the midst of trying to get my dad to buy this lush coat for me! The green parka is a british classic and this one is perfect when it gets nippy outside! The inside has a lovely white borg lining (which can be removed as the weather gets warmer) and the hood is trimmed with white fluffy fur. This is the perfect coat for the perfect winter!

And so yet again we have finished another blog post! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you would like to purchase any of these items then the links are at the bottom as always. So until next time, have a great winter and leave me your comments to brighten my cold day!

Lots of love, Phoebe X

The Disney tag!

Since I really enjoyed writing my last tag post (the makeup tag) I thought it would be fun to write a post about my ultimate, favourite thing... Disney!!! This is actually a very new tag and so far I have only seen 2 or 3 you tubers doing it and no blog posts about it :( But there's a first for everything and this will hopefully be the start of more Disney tags since I am tagging all of you to do it as well! Make sure you leave me a link to yours in the comment box so I can check it out but until then last crack on with the post!

1) A scene in a movie that you wish you could experience?

Oh my.. I think I'm going to go with when Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are in the boat on the lake and all of the lanterns go into the air and the world just seems to stop. I mean that's just the cutest, right?! :3

2) Whats your favourite Disney song?

HAKUNA MATATA! Its just such a beaty happy song.. I just love it.

3) Which film has the best soundtrack?

OK I have 3.. Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Hercules! I actually own the Now that's what I call Disney CD and its just the best (y)

4) When was the first time you went to a Disneyland park?

Its so depressing that I have never been to one :( I desperately want to go to Disney land Florida!! Oh my goshness I just cant wait to finally go!!!

5) If you could choose any character to be your best friend who would you choose?

Probably Tiana from the princess and the frog, she's so sweet and loyal and I think she would be such a nice person to have around. Plus she works hard for what she wants in life and dreams big!

6) Whos your favourite Disney villian?

I'm not sure if they count as villians but its going to have to be the ugly step sisters! They just make the film for me and if you ask anyone what they think of when you say Cinderella they will defiantly say the step sisters!

7) Who are your favourite Disney princess'?

Well when I was younger I was obsessed with Snow White, my mum even painted her on my wall (It took a while but looked amazing!) However since then I started to see more Disney films and so now I think its a tie between Snow White, Belle and Ariel!

8) Name a scene/moment in any Disney movie that never fails to make your cry.

Obviously when Mufasa dies and poor Simba is sat by his dad trying to wake him up, gets me every time :(

9) What is the first Disney Movie you remember seeing?

I think its Snow White?

10) Who would you want as your prince?

Probably cheeky Flynn Rider, since I just love a good adventure! And who wouldn't love to have some crazy memories with there prince?

11) What is your favourite Disney movie?

Oh goodness! There's just so many! I think the Lion King or Tangled. I actually saw The Lion King Musical in the theater in London not too long ago and it was probably one of the best experiences of my life! It was so amazing and I was nearly in tears by the end since it was such a passionate production and undoubtedly I would go and see it again!

And that is the end of another blog post! This was a very fun one to write and I loved just looking at all of these Disney memories! But for now remember "Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age and dreams are forever" - Walt E. Disney

Would you rather tag.. Makeup edition!

I hope you're all having a lovely half term holiday! Today I have decided to do my first tag post! So before I start I tag all of you reading this to write your own would you rather makeup tag! lets get going :)

Would you rather chop of all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

I love my hair but never being able to cut it again would be a right pain so I think I would chop it all off. Plus if I was to chop it off I could do it to raise money for charity so everyone wins really!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Since winter is approaching (way too quickly if you ask me) I think I might have to go with the coral cheek, simply because it would give that warm glow and make you look rosy for the winter weather! Be careful not to go too overboard though since you could end up looking like you've got a cold (and lets face it, that's not very attractive!)

If you had £1,000 to spend would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Cant I have both?! This ones difficult but I'm going to go with clothes purely because I would be able to go into Topshop and buy whatever I fancied! Not only this but makeup always runs out sooner or later, but clothes last you ages and when they start to look a bit run down you can just use the material to make something fabulous!

Would you rather apply eyeliner as lipstick or lipstick as eyeliner?

I would use eyeliner as lipstick! Nowadays you can get so many pretty eyeliner colours so that wouldn't be a problem but can you imagine how sticky and horrible your face would feel if you had lipstick on your eyes?! Ew.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

I hate being cold! Its just awful! So if it meant I could wear my winter clothes in winter then I would defiantly go with option number 1!

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

I'm very much someone that loves a bit of colour! And bearing in mind that most brands generally sell more bright nail varnishes then dark, I'm going to say bright nails all year round! Plus if its a really miserable day, who wouldn't be cheered up by some bright yellow nails?!

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow or one lipstick for the rest of your life?

I'm not big on eye shadows to be honest and I could probably live without them but if I couldn't have  my lipsticks I would just find myself crying all the time! So in case you havent guessed I would rather have one eyeshadow!

Would you rather only wear your hair in a pony tail or messy bun?

As some of you may know from my 25 things about me post, I just love a high pony tail! Of course I love messy buns too but there's so much more you can do with a ponytail (high, low, side..) hence me choosing pony tail.

Would you rather never be able to paint your nails or never wear lip gloss?

I'm not a fan of lip gloss since I don't like the texture (far too sticky for me) however I do bite my nails so I rarely paint them anyway, but I'm trying to stop that habit, so I will say never wear lip gloss again!

Would you rather shave all your eyebrows off and have none at all or sharpie them in every day?

Sharpie them in! Seriously guys just go to Google and type in celebrities with no eyebrows (it's scary but you'll understand why I chose sharpie!)

Would you rather live without makeup or nail varnish?

I NEED MY MAKEUP!!! I could cope with no nail varnish so definatley makeup all the way!

Would you rather shop at drugstores for ever or have one trip to a high end makeup store every year?

I've actually just made this last question up since I think it would be interesting to see what people say. I personally would go for shopping at drugstores for the rest of my life since they have a wider range of choice and its cheaper! Plus imagine only being able to buy make up once a year *shudders*

So that is the end of my would you rather makeup tag! I hope you all enjoyed reading it and that you all had a great halloween last night! My October favourites will be up shortly so hold on for that! But until then remember..  Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.

Lots of love, Phoebe X

October wish list!

Today I'm going for a slightly different blog post, this is my October wishlist! If you're not familiar with what a wishlist is well it is basically where I will show you a load of items which I WISH I could have. Oh goodness if only I had the money to buy all of these goodies! :O Links for all items shown are at the bottom of the post! anyways on with the show!
Topshop Knitted Lace Yoke Top £38
Oh Topshop why do you do this to me?! This jumper is one of the nicest items of clothing I have seen in a looooong time! The detailing at the top is stunning and the mint green just makes me think of fresh tea leaves!  But it probably helps that the model is so tall and glamorous!

Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation in Ivory £5.99
I have actually already tried this foundation because I got a little sample in one of my Company Magazines! This foundation is amazing though! It has such great coverage and although the tube only looks quite small, you actually only need bout a pea size amount to cover your whole face, so it does go a long way! This is available in most drugstores for £5.99 however in Wilkinson's at the moment there is a special offer on!

Urban Outfitters BDG Fur Trimmed Hooded Parka Jacket in Khaki for £115
Why cant I own this?! This gorgeous coat from Urban Outfitters makes me want to cry! Who knew something so stylish could look so warm and snug. If Urban Outfitters were aiming to make people jealous with this coat then job done!

Babyliss curl secret £120
Can we just stop for asecond to take a look at how high tech this seems?! So as some of you may of already seen this looks like the future of hair styling for us! This little gadget curls hair in seconds and lets you choose from tight to loose curls (and just to make sure you don't burn your hair it beeps when the curl is done letting you know to let go!) If this isn't cool I don't know what is! Click me to lead you to an advert showing the Babyliss Curl Secret

River Island Holographic Brogues £40
Holographic patterns is the print of the season. Put the print of the season on to my favourite kind of shoes and "Ding, Ding, Ding WE HAVE A WINNER!" But seriously... look how pretty!

Favorite face care products!

Being a teenager I get the joy of dealing with spotty, dry and oily skin, so just like every other teenager I spend my time finding ways to (hopefully) prevent or completely stop it from doing this stuff we all despise. So I am here today to share with all you lovely people my favorite skin care products to save you some very vital shopping time trying to decide which product you want!
Clearasil Daily Gel Face Wash
This is a very refreshing  and cool wash. You only require a small amount of gel and it lathers very easily not only this but it smells of cucumber leaving you wanting to just smell your face all day (I promise I'm not weird..)

Boots Botanic eye makeup remover
This has to be my favourite eye makeup remover and I have used it quite a lot! You don't need very much to get it all of your makeup off and its great when removing waterproof mascara. It's slightly oily but is great for sensitive skin since it has a very soothing formula. Plus its cheap!
Superdrug pore cleansing tea tree nose strips
I tend to get quite bad blackheads on my nose and so when I saw these in superdrug I thought it would be good to give them a try. However these ones in particular weren't very good in my opinion. But I went to a friends house, not too long ago, and she happened to have a more high end brands version which were very good.

Clinique liquid facial soap
This, believe it or not, was a freebie in a magazine! You only need a tiny bit on your fingers for it to lather up and it also works well at removing tough makeup like eye or lip stains. A little bit more expensive then what I usually use but you can definatley tell the difference.

Superdrug tea tree foaming face wash
I know I should talk about how brilliant this face wash is for your skin (which dont get me wrong it is) but the real reason I love this face wash is because in the bottle the soap is a liquid and then when you push the pump it comes out as foam... lets face it, that's pretty cool.

Garnier Moisture Match Wake me up

I have actually used all of my moisture match and so had to get this photo off of google but my goodness is this a good moisturizer! I think I prefer this then other moisturizers because instead of it being a cream (which generally feel quite heavy on the skin) its a gel and so is a lot lighter. I particularly like wake me up because it makes you feel ready for the day ahead and gives you a healthy, happy glow.

And so that concludes my favourite face care products! I hope you have enjoyed reading this and it has helped you to choose some products for your next shopping trip.

And remember life is short so smile while you still have teeth, Lots of Love Phoebe x

Winter haul..

Longtime no speak! This past week has been a very long cold one here in the UK and I am starting to think... is this the start of winter? I hope so! Winter is one of my favourite seasons I think its because I just love to come home get in my PJ's, light a few Yankee candles and snuggle up in bed watching youtube videos. Heaven! But anyway I was thinking why not share some of my favourite winter must haves with all you lovely people? So here you are, enjoy!
Turquoise beanie £2 Primark

Bobble hats were last years craze but this time its all about the beanie. I got this one yesterday from Primark and can tell this will be worn excessively over the next few months. The great thing about beanies is they can be styled with everything and worn all year round. I love wearing this with either straightened or loosely curled hair just perched on my head.

Yellow crew cut jumper £30 Urban Outfitters
I am obsessed with this jumper!!! I had been looking for a crew cut jumper since last year then while shopping in London about 3-4 months ago I came across this beauty... I desperately wanted it but I don't generally get a lot of money so if I was to buy it I wouldn't be able to get anything else. But in the end I decided that I would rather have this 1 more expensive thing which I love, than have a few cheaper bits which would be OK... and now that we are in October and I can snuggle up in it I have realized I made the right decision!

Acid wash skater skirt £10 reduced from £28 Bank Fashion
The lace detail
This was another of my great fashion buys which I got yesterday while in Plymouth. The skirt was an amazing bargain and the second I saw it I was thinking about how I could team it up with things. It will be so nice during the winter with wooly black or grey tights and some knock off Dr martens.

Snow white cats £15 Ebay
T-shirt dress' are brilliant for a casual comfy look in the autumn/winter time. I own 3 (1 plain grey one from topshop for £15, 1 with different comic book prints on it from primark for £2 and this new addition, which I know will not appeal to all, from ebay). I style these with some thin tights and creepers (and depending on my hair that day) perhaps a beanie.

Aztec print snood £5 Primark (men's section)
I actually purchased this scarf last year and am reusing it this year instead of buying a new one. However when I went in there the other day I saw that they still had the exact same one and more! I particularly liked a tartan red one in there, so next time you're in primarni dont be a fool and only look in the womens part of the store.. check it all out! you never know what you could come across!

Christmas top £5 Primark (men's section)
A closer view of the pattern
OK guys I know what you are thinking... "is that really a Christmas top.. in October?!' well I'm sorry to tell you why yes, yes it is. I am so excited for Christmas guys! And yes maybe this is a bit odd but hey at least it keeps me feeling festive all year! I decided to buy this in large so its nice and baggy and i just wear it with leggings and vans. And yet again I found this one hiding away in the mens section of Primark!
Minnie Mouse dressing gown poncho £15 Primark
I love, love, love this dressing gown thingy!!! I wasn't sure how to describe it in the caption so let me just explain it here.. think of a poncho made of the warmest, fluffiest dressing gown material ever then make it look like Minnie mouse. I think I die and go to heaven every time I wear this (no exaggeration). Primark do loads of different styles of these and even have a daisy duck one! Oh and in case you haven't guessed I like Primark!

silky patterned dress £8 Primark
A close up of the pattern
This is my final piece of clothing for today's haul :( But no worries since I have saved best until last! While browsing in Primark (yes.. again!) I came across this gorgeous patterned dress and immediately knew I needed it in my life! The hardest task was deciding which pattern I preferred since there was so much choice! I eventually chose this since the colours were so pretty. I also got a size bigger then I normally would because I liked the way it hung.

Foxes Blanket £3 Primark
And in case any of you wanted to know what the background of the pictures was, it was this beauty which I purchased in Brighton not too long ago!

I hoped you've all enjoyed this little haul and just a small disclaimer: in no way am I trying to brag about the stuff shown and everything that you have seen was purchased over the course of a few weeks, not all at once!

So until next time bye bye for now! Lots of Love Phoebe x

Ebays the way! (Secret Saves series)

A couple of months back I was browsing through ebay and came across a coloured set of 120 eyeshadows for £7. I am a massive bargain hunter! If I can get something cheap I will.. but because it was ebay (which is great most of the time but makeup.. from ebay? hmmmm..)  and the photo advertising it seemed a bit tacky, I was weary of whether or not to get it. In the end I just thought to myself "you know what, its only £7. Just go for it!" So I followed my internal monologues voice and my package arrived 3 days later... I have never made a greater shopping decision!
A few of the colours from the pallette

I first tried applying the eyeshadow with a brush but figured out that it was just clinging on to the bristles and not actually going on my lid so I used my finger instead and it is SO pigmented! The set has a range of shades, textures, shimmers and mattes which makes choosing which one to wear a hard decision but fun at the same time! It has so many different colours in it, all the way from neutral to neons and they all feel very soft when applied to the lid.

The packaging
The actual palette itself is very professional and sleek looking. Its not too thick and is easy to open and close. When the palette arrived the box was wrapped in bubble wrap and there were two sheets of plastic covering the eve shadows inside, one of which I have kept so the eyeshadows don't smudge against each other.

Some of the pink eyeshadows
Overall I'm thoroughly impressed! I will definatley consider buying more cheap makeup from ebay now on!

Click me to lead you to where I purchased the palette!

If you have any questions regarding the palette or want me to do a certain blog post leave it in the comments below and until next time, Lots of Love Phoebe x

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

Recently in the UK, Maybelline New York released there range of baby lips! Being me I instantly knew I needed them and the first chance I got I grabbed the whole lot (expensive? yes, but it was an impulse buy) and rushed home to test them out.. Before I go into the review this is just a little disclaimer that all opinions are my own and just because I have said something it doesn't mean you should or shouldn't get the product, having said that lets get on with the review! ;D

The baby lips available in the UK. Each selling for £2.99 at Boots and Superdrug

Baby Lips have come to the UK with a storm but are they worth all the hype? For some of them, in my opinion, its a no. They claim to have SPF 20 and last up to 8 hours of hydration however its more like 2. And I was hoping for a stronger smell and taste, for example with Mint Fresh you would expect to get a nice strong smell of mint (probably a bit like chewing gum) but its a very faint smell (which is probably a bonus for some people but I enjoy a strong smelling lip balm) and you cannot taste it at all. Having said that though, they do have a very nice texture and don't feel sticky or thick on your lips and I have noticed that my lips haven't cracked or felt rough since applying these regularly.

Cherry Me, Mint Fresh and Pink Punch
One of the main things that makes this product so appealing is the cute packaging it might not be for everyone but the childish colours and writing is lush to me. My personal favorite is Pink Punch which has a very bright vibrant colour on my lips and stays on for most of the day without me needing to top up. They all glide on the lip with ease and leave a nice shine and you get a decent amount of the lip balm in each tube which was a nice surprise.

Mint fresh
So to summaries...

PROS
-inexpensive (compared to other brands)
-cute packaging
-decent amount of product

CONS
-Not a very strong scent or flavour
-drying effect
-wears off very quickly
-no long-term moisturizing benefits

Please let me know what you have thought of Maybellines Baby Lips in the comments below and I hope this has helped some of you guys! Later tater, Lots of love Phoebe x

Phoebes Phavorites! (september)

Today is the start of my monthly favorites. I will be talking to you each month about what i have been loving over the last 30 days, this will be called phoebes phavorites...(you see what i did there ;D )

Anyway lets crack on!

September favorites 2013

                                                                   Fashion favorites...

Cat earrings from new look for £2.99

I have been obsessed with animal earrings this month especially these gorgeous little simplistic cat earrings from new look. They are about the size of a penny but you hardly notice you're wearing them during the day and the neutral colours means they're perfect for school. They almost look festive with there bright red noses! A must have accessory for autumn.

Vintage scrunchie from Urban outfitters. 2 for £6.
This photo really doesn't do this scrunchie justice. I have been wearing my hair in a high, curly pony tail to school nearly every day with this scrunchie on. The 90's look is really in at the moment and a scrunchie is defiantly a fashion staple. Its so easy to style and can be worn anywhere even if you can only wear a simple black one to school it still looks lush!

                                                                  Beauty favorites...

Real techniques Buffing brush. Set of 4 for £18 at HQhair.
This brush is amazing! I have had the set for quite a few months but I have recently started using the buffing brush loads, mainly for putting on my loose powder (which I will get to in a minute). The hand cut, synthetic bristles are 100% cruelty free and are so soft on the face. The brush is really nice to hold and (this is going to sound weird but) are so satisfying to wash!

Natural Collection loose powder for (I think) £1.99 at boots.
Until last month I have been using pressed powder from the Natural Collection however its always left quite a cakey finish, so when i was out with Phoebe (who is mentioned in my last blog) she suggested using the loose powder and it has such a nice coverage and feels really light on my skin.. and at £1.99 who can resist?!

Natural Collection concealer for £1.99 at boots.
Since I started wearing makeup I have always used this concealer, so i don't have much to compare it to but this always gives great coverage and conceals all blemishes. It is a very creamy formula which i have found works great on dark under eye circles. The Natural Collection have such a wide range of makeup and are all so cheap that I just cant help but buy it!

New York Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch for £2.99 at boots or superdrug.
As most of you probably know Maybelinne Baby Lips have just been released in the UK and I was among the first to get my hands on the complete set. A review of all of them will be going up soon but for now I will just talk about Pink Punch. The colour is so vibrant on your lips and leaves a really nice shine. They claim to keep your lips hydrated for up to 8 hours however i did have to keep on topping up throughout the day but this colour is so nice that I really do not mind! Its a great way to brighten up a monochrome outfit or bring some brightness to a dull day.

MUA Lipstick in shade 11 for £1 from superdrug
The MUA lipsticks are amazing value for money, they have such good pigmentation and the colour last's nearly all day. I especially love this shade on my lips since it leaves a very rich stain and is a warm colour for autumn/winter time.

                                                                  Random favorites...

Nintendo DSI in turquoise.
Ok I know nintendos are nowadays a thing of the past but I recently discovered my old one buried under a pile of rubbish in my room and realised how great these things really are! I have become re-obsessed with playing games like cooking mama, tamagotchi town and style boutique and to be honest I dont know why I ever stopped playing?!

Disney music!
My walks home from school have consisted of me listening to podcasts and walking to the beat of disney songs (I'm just glad that headphones exist or I would get some very strange looks).

So that is the end of this months Phoebes Phavorites!
I hope you had as much fun reading it as I have writing it, Lots of Love Phoebe x
